Bend A Cappella Festival is pleased to announce our final two members of the professionals that will be on hand at our inaugural event. Lisa Forkish and Mike Chin will bring their enthusiasm, expertise, and educations to enhance the experience for all attendees. (Wow that was a lot of e words!) We welcome all our fine professionals with open arms and a grateful hearts! ![]() Lisa Forkish is an Oakland-based vocalist/composer/arranger/educator and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. She has been involved in a cappella since 2002 when she got her start as music director for the University of Oregon'’s award-winning female a cappella group Divisi, featured in the best-selling book “Pitch Perfect,” later made into the blockbuster film. Currently, Lisa is Assistant Chair of the Vocal Music Department at Oakland School for the Arts where she is also founder/director of the school’s acclaimed group Vocal Rush, three-time ICHSA Champions and 3rd place winners on Season 4 of NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” Lisa’s arrangements have been nominated for CARAs as has her student group Vocal Rush and her ACA-dubbed "ground-breaking" women’s quintet, The Riveters. She is also co-founder and Executive Director of the Women's A Cappella Association. He has attended and written reviews of over forty a cappella competitions over the last nine years, in addition to posting over five hundred columns related a cappella music.
