We are super excited for the holidays, but even more excited about welcoming our singers, judges, audience members and headliners to Bend in February!
Coming in the New Year: Profiles of our wonderful competition groups in the Friday Night Sing-Offs as well as information about our judges and Naturally 7.
So stay tuned and meanwhile we here in Bend wish everyone a happy, harmonious holiday!
We hope you’ve noticed that we’re having a Season of Singing Sale right now. We are thrilled to offer this special because we want to make our festival as inclusive as possible for all.
Music can bring together folks of all ages and all walks of life. Making music together can unite the most curmudgeonly of folks (though we’ve noticed that people who love music are seldom grumpy!).
Singing in particular offers spectacular benefits, both physical and mental, to everyone who practices it.
So please considering joining our wonderful Sing-Off, either with your own group or in the audience! We’re so excited to welcome back our defending 2016 champions U of O’s Mind the Gap along with Oregon high school groups including Soul’d Out, the Mixolydians, and local favorites as well.
Plus, join us to hear the smooth tones of Naturally 7 in the historic Tower Theatre. You won’t believe what this virtuoso group can do only with their voices!
Pass holders will gain access also to our wonderful classes on Saturday, taught by members of innovative a cappella champions The Bobs as well as the Tenor from the 2016 Gold Medal Barbershop winner, Forefront. And on Sunday morning we have a special treat planned: A Sing-Off Summit where you can mingle with members of all the groups, Including Naturally 7. We might even do some singing all together!
Because that’s what music is about. The feeling of creating beauty all together. Please don’t miss your chance to witness or compete in Bend this February.
This time of the year is so infectiously festive, that we at the Bend A Cappella Festival have decided to join in. For the next ten days only, December 1 – 10, we are making our wonderful festival a little more affordable! Passes for the entire weekend will be discounted by $10, to $70 if you are buying individual passes and to $60 if you purchase eight or more. And if you’re in a group, entering the Sing-Off for the next ten days will be $25 less, for $100. If you purchase four group passes, entering the Sing-Off is free! This discount window is made possible by the wonderful Tower Theatre Foundation. (Thank you!)
We are filling up quickly but we just couldn’t resist the chance to make our amazing weekend even easier for groups and singers to join. During the holidays it's nice to save a little dough where you can, right? So, please don’t wait! Take advantage of our savings today and come help us warm up beautiful Bend next February.
Because nothing can equal the warmth of your favorite music, made only with the human voice. A cappella is a miracle. Come to Bend next February and experience for yourself.
Recently the Huffington Post rounded up the seven scientifically-proven benefits of music. You can read the full article here.
Many of these benefits are echoed by the experience we will offer participating groups, singers, and audience members during the upcoming A Cappella Festival next February!
Improve mood? Check! Singing out, rooting for your favorite group or basking in the mellow tones of Naturally 7 will surely give you a boost!
Healing? We sure hope so! Applying music to the injured soul is known to promote a sense of well-being, AND listening in a crowd of other aca-enthusiasts will restore your faith in community.
Relaxation? You bet! Nothing more fun than either gearing up to compete and singing successfully, or listening to the wonderful tones and smart snark from returning MC Chelsea Woodmansee at the Tower in February.
Music that sticks with you? Of course! With groups from our local high schools to international stars, we’ll have you leaving the Tower humming, singing, skipping and remembering the awesomesauce you heard during the Festival. My blood pressure is lowering just thinking about it!
So please plan to take advantage of this great locally-born festival in Bend, in February! Tickets and more information here.
PS Shhhh! We’ll be announcing our Season of Singing Sale on Thursday, and passes and sing-off entries will be discounted! Please look for our announcement but ACT fast! Sing-off slots and pass seating is limited!
Every day, in most corners of our lives, music plays a role. We hum while we wait for an elevator, hear carols playing in stores, sing with family and friends in groups or informally, or just rock out in the car as we rush from place to place (not that I would ever do that!). Music enhances our moods, emphasizes festivities, evokes either calm or excitement or most importantly builds a sense of community and common ground among listeners and musicians.
Music truly is the first, best language of the heart. It’s poetry on steroids.
So, in this time of thankfulness and family and friends, when we’re all taking a break from the everyday rush to savor, share, and celebrate, I urge you to think about the soundtrack of your life, and add that to the many things you’re thankful for.
As for those of us at the Bend A Cappella Festival, we’re thankful for all of the ways that music plays into our lives, and most especially, for the talented musicians and groups who will be joining us for a wonderful, collaborative, community-building weekend in February.
Tickets are now on sale to hear our Sing-Off on Friday night, February 10, at 7 PM, with High Schools competing in the first half and College & Beyond groups in the second half. Both competitions will net $1200 in prize money for the winners! But beyond that it will be an AWESOME show!
Then on Saturday, February 11 at 7 PM come hear our winners open for Naturally 7, the group from New York who initiated the concept of "Vocal Play," making music just with their voices! Naturally 7 will wow you as no a cappella group has ever before.
So don't miss this great weekend of music! And if you are yourself a musician or want an even more intensive experience, All Access Passes, that will give you access to the performances plus master classes on Saturday taught by members of The Bobs and a Sing-Off Summit and Breakfast on Sunday morning. Come immerse yourself in music and enjoy a wonderful weekend of song!
Sign ups for performers for the Bend A Cappella Festival are now open! You can purchase all-access passes or simply register for a Sing-Off.
We have a couple of good deals this year: Our passes for the ENTIRE WONDERFUL WEEKEND including classes and concerts and our Sing-Off Summit are only $80 per person, dropping to $70 per person for eight or more in a group. That's an outstanding value!

We are so excited to announce the SECOND ANNUAL BEND A CAPPELLA FESTIVAL! This year we will FILL Bend with music on February 10-12, at the beautiful Tower Theatre in Bend Oregon!
This year’s Bend Festival will be headlined by national "vocal play" sensation Naturally 7. Founded in New York City in 1999, Naturally 7 has opened for Diana Ross, toured with Michael Bublé, played with Coldplay, and rapped with Ludacris. The seven-member group is widely recognized as one of the finest a cappella groups in the country.
And this year, the Bend A Cappella Festitval and The A Cappella Education Association (AEA) have combined forces to create a high school competition that is the only West Coast regional qualifying event for AEA's championship at the National A Cappella Convention (NACC) in Memphis in April!! The winning high school a cappella group in Bend will gain automatic entry into the National Championship and receive complimentary all access passes to all events at the NACC.
Tickets go on sale November 1, so please plan to join us for this thrilling vocal music event!
